Frequently
Asked Questions About
Four Paws Ranch Facilities and Amenities
*
What are
your hours?
Monday
- Friday: 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.
....................
. 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
As a courtesy to our customers, we offer a 10 a.m. pickup
on all major holidays.
We
do everything here by appointment so that we may put our guests' needs
first. If a customer were to arrive unscheduled, we may be in the
yard with a play group and we would have to take all of the dogs back
to their rooms and then tend to the customer. This is unfair to our
guests, therefore, we make appointments so that we can give our guests'
humans the same consideration we give our guests.
*
Do you have indoor or outdoor kennels? What size are they?
We have 14 runs that are indoor, heated and cooled and range in size
from 5' x 4' to 6.5' x 8.5'. The television is left on for our guests
all of the time to provide an environment more like home.
Each run is separated by thick polyethylene panels so that there is
not a chain link between runs. This provides a sense of security for
even the tiniest or shyest guest.
*
May I bring personal food, beds, toys, etc?
We require owners to bring their own food in order to prevent digestive
upset and/or diarrhea. Owners are encouraged to bring a bed and any
toys or treats you feel comfortable leaving with your pet. We also recommend
that you bring a beach towel for your pet, so that we may dry them
off after their swim or if we get caught in the rain.
Please do not
bring something your pet is not accustomed to as that may cause digestive
upset. Also, please be sure that anything left with your pet is safe for
them to have while unattended.
*
How do I know my dog plays well?
We evaluate each dog for temperament and arrange play groups based
on each individual dog's play style and size.
*
What do you do
in play group?
Each play group's
activities are tailored to that group's needs. For example: some pets
enjoy the pools, some enjoy frisbee, others enjoy playing ball, etc.
We continually rotate activities so that all of the individual needs
are met.
*
Do you board cats or other animals?
No, just dogs, they are our specialty.
*
Do you offer obedience/behavior training?
Basic obedience training is offered while boarding. Please call to
discuss your pet's needs.
*
How often does my dog go out and for how long?
The dogs go outside between 5 and 8 times per day, with the last time
being after 10 p.m. Of those times, they go to a 3/4 acre fenced play
yard at least twice a day and can spend anywhere from 20 minutes to
2 hours each time, depending on how they get along with others (if
they are able to join a play group then they can share time and stay
out longer), what the weather is doing, and how many dogs are here
at that time.
